Account deletion

Delete your GTGO account

App
GTGO
Operated by
CarOwnersClub Inc.

This page explains how to delete your account in the mobile app “GTGO” and the data linked to it. You can delete your account in the app at any time. If you cannot use the app, you can request deletion by email.

Delete your account in the app

While signed in to the GTGO app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the “You” tab at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the gear icon (“Settings”) at the top right.
  3. Under “Account”, tap “Account Settings”.
  4. Under “Danger Zone” at the bottom of the screen, tap “Delete Account”.
  5. In the confirmation dialog, tap “Delete”. Your sign-in account is deleted and you are signed out automatically.

If deleting your sign-in account fails, your account and data remain as they were. Please try again, or contact us at the address below. After your sign-in account is deleted, the data below is deleted progressively.

If you cannot use the app (request by email)

If you cannot delete your account in the app — for example, you no longer have the device or cannot sign in — send your request by email to the address below. You do not need to reinstall the app.

  • Contact contact@car-owners-club.net
  • Subject Account deletion request

Please send it from the email address registered with GTGO. If you cannot, include the registered email address and how you signed in (email address, Apple, or Google) in your message.

After confirming that the request comes from you, we delete the same data as deletion in the app does, and let you know the result by email. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity.

Requests to delete inquiries you sent without signing in are also accepted at this address.

Data that is deleted

When you delete your account, your sign-in account is deleted first, and then the following data is deleted progressively.

  • Your sign-in account (email address and password)
  • Your profile (display name, images, bio, birth year, place of residence, etc.) and settings
  • Vehicles and vehicle inspection certificate information
  • Drive records (drive logs, completion/pass-through/stop-by records, drive sessions, destination history) and the detailed per-second records of motion and position taken while driving
  • Your posts in the public feed, and your share of the drive counts for segments and spots
  • Registered bases (coordinates, radius, address)
  • Follow and friend connections, friend requests, blocks you made, and favorites
  • Notifications, device registrations for push notifications, and invitation and reward records
  • Clubs: a club with other members continues with administration handed over; a club with no other members is deleted. The body and meeting place of your thread posts, your comments, likes, and attendance responses on other people’s posts, and your chat messages are also deleted
  • Your inquiries (the inquiry form, and support chat conversations in which only you take part)
  • Images you uploaded (profile, cover, vehicle, club, inspection certificate, touring photos, etc.)

Data that remains after deletion, and for how long

The following data remains after deletion, for legal or safety reasons or because it is also another user’s data. Data kept for a fixed period is deleted when the period ends.

  • Consent records (type, version, and language of the Terms of Use or Privacy Policy you accepted, time of acceptance, and App version)
5 years after account deletion, to demonstrate which version you accepted and when, in a dispute or in response to an inquiry from a public authority. The IP address and User-Agent recorded at acceptance are deleted when your account is deleted.
  • Reports you submitted
3 years after account deletion (to handle reports and prevent recurrence).
  • Information about you contained in other users’ data (messages the other person sent in a conversation with you, their conversation list, records of others blocking you, reports about you, comments, likes, and attendance responses others left on your posts, clubs handed over to other members, and support chat conversations in which other users also take part)
Until that user deletes it or leaves the service (because it is also their data). For your club posts, the body, meeting place, and author are deleted, and only a placeholder (creation time and counts) needed to display other people’s comments remains until the club is deleted.
  • Past daily snapshots in the analytics replica
Kept without a fixed period (for usage analysis and incident investigation). However, your display name, bio, profile images and profile ID, the names, addresses, registration number, VIN and similar details from your vehicle inspection certificates, and the name, address and location of your bases are erased from past snapshots as well when you delete your account. Snapshots taken after deletion do not contain your data.
  • Backups
Until the backup generation rolls over.
  • Server logs, IP addresses, and device identifiers
A reasonable period for abuse prevention and security monitoring.
  • Statistics and anonymously processed information that cannot identify you (processed from your drive records and detailed records)
Indefinitely. Categories of information in the anonymously processed information

Removal from the drive counts for segments and spots is carried out progressively and may take some time to be reflected.

Please note

  • Deletion cannot be undone. A deleted account and its data cannot be restored.
  • Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or data.

Deletion is set out in Article 8 of the Privacy Policy.
